Dr. Rick T. Wilson is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Texas State University where he teaches Promotional Strategy and an advertising case competition course. Dr. Wilson’s research interest includes out of home advertising, creativity in advertising, and foreign direct investment promotion. His research has been published in a number of academic journals including the Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, and International Journal of Advertising. He also has a book chapter in Advertising Theory, where he presents an organizing framework for out of home advertising and other forms non-traditional advertising.
Prior to joining the marketing faculty at Texas State, Dr. Wilson taught at Hofstra University in New York and worked for 12 years as a senior product manager for AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Vodafone Group, and TelePacific Communications. While working for Vodafone, Dr. Wilson helped start a new wireless venture in Hungary and spent one year working in Budapest as a senior international product manager.
